Therapy

Psychological Therapy is likely to be the main care option for most people. This involves 60 minute appointments, usually once a week. We will work hard to build a respectful non-judgemental and compassionate therapy relationship with you, one that feels trusting, secure and professional. This therapy relationship, along with the psychological formulation, provide the solid foundations from which the work of therapy will flow. Therapy is hard work for therapist and patient. There is a need for the patient to think about and work on things between the therapy sessions for it to work. The length of therapy will depend on the nature and severity of your problems but is likely to be between 20-60 sessions, over 6-24 months.

The care collective therapists use a variety of well established therapy models including Schema Therapy (ST), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
